The importance of wisdom in discipleship cannot be overemphasized. Either in the spiritual or secular spheres, disciples are always commissioned for a specific purpose and therefore requie wisdom to fulfill such a purpose.
In life and ministry, wisdom is a key factor needed for excellence.
No wonder apostle Paul prayed that the Father would give the believers in Ephesus " a spirit of wisdom"
Ephesians 1:17 ( KJV )
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
Likewise, Solomon prayed to the Lord for wisdom in ruling the people ( Chronicles 1:8-10 ).
11Chronicles 1:8-10 ( KJV )
8 And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead. 9 Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. 10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?
Paslm 37:30 says, the mouths of the righteous utter wisdom, and their tongues speak what is just. From this scripture, it is clear that no disciple or follower can succeed in any Kingdom assignment without the spirit of wisdom. Seek Him now and He will endow you with the spirit of wisdom.
