7 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also. 8 I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.
This do in sincerity of your love. He ( Apostle Paul ) was asking them to give. The way to prove the sincerity of our love.
Love is not considered valid without the giving factor. Giving is a vital gift of our love for God. Giving is a vital proof of our love for God. Let's begin seeing helping others as a channel of accessing help in an areas of needs.
Whatever good thing any man does, the same he shall receive from the Lord.

Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
Acts 4:34-35 ( KJV )
34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, 35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
This applies to our Churches as well, Churches should wake up to this covenant responsibilities.
There was non of them that lacked in the early Church. They were committed to see the need of everyone met and they were having favours also in doing that.
Proverbs 11: 24-25 ( KJV )
Proverbs 24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. 25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
Let's be consistence in helping not a show off. Don't say, if I were not there to help, where will you have been? God will use someone else if you refuse to help. Is just an opportunity and nothing else.
