Early in the Spring I quickly built this little birdhouse out of a small pine board I had.
The birds were happily singing their Spring songs. Mating time will soon begin.
I wanted to get this birdhouse up in time hoping they might choose it as place to nest raise their babies.
My plan was to use a small twig for the perch. Not long after I put it up I spotted a Chickadee inspecting the inside of it.
I put a long screw in as temporary perch only it became permanent for the season. They quickly started building so I left it as it was.
A pair of Chickadees successfully raised their baby birds.
I am definitely still going to replace the long screw with twig. I hope they decide to move back in again this coming Spring.
