#Butterflyday and Insect day ~ hosted by @whatisnew ~ Week 48
Most beautiful Dragonfly sitting on top of a Globe Thistle flower.
I'm not positive but I think it's an Orange Meadowhawk dragonfly.
It's an absolutely spectacular sight to see when there is a large swarm of them all together flying and zipping around. Sometimes just inches from off the ground.
Quite a few years back I did some research and wanted to learn why so many of them were gravitating and swarming over particular small area.
My understanding is there is an abundance of insects in that spot. For example, mosquitoes.
I have plenty of mosquitoes and the beautiful dragonflies are welcome to eat all the want.
