A lot of people still do - it is strange , the Afrikaans people are more old school some of them and teach respect. English people are more relaxed and black parents in some cases do not teach them anything - but mostly kids are spoiled and mom and dad sorts out everything and they have no consequences for their actions.... times have changed since I was a child. We have now adopted a whole other way of raising kids - so glad mine is grown.
