“Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination, and the journey. They are home.” ― Anna Quindlen, How Reading Changed My Life
“Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counsellors, and the most patient of teachers.” — Charles William Eliot
“A room without books is like a body without a soul.” ― Marcus Tullius Cicero
In 2017, I read 35 books. I can hardly believe that typing it out myself. I thought I would start a book recommendation thread so we can share the book that we've fallen in love with.
My taste preference goes for historical, historical fiction and realistic fiction.
My top books for 2017 were as follows:
The Choice: Embrace the Possible by Dr. Edith Eger
Amy Chelsea Stacie Dee by Mary G. Thompson
They Were Like Family to Me by Helen Maryles Shankman
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly
Lily and the Octopus by Steven Rowley
Modern Girls by Jennifer S. Brown
The Wonder by Emma Donoghue
What's the best book or books you've read recently and would like to recommend?
