I am back in Cumaná after a year (I can't believe time is passing so fast). Last time I came, we celebrated 
It was a long bus trip that was supposed to be six hours or less. We arrived on monday night, after almost 12 hours on the road. I went to my dad's place on Tuesday and we inmediatelly went out to run some errands.
Easter is supposed to be a religious celebration but in Venezuela most people (most of which are catholics, by the way) just think about going to the beach, river, mall, or just party.
Part of the religious practice says that we are not supposed to eat meat during the week, so most people used to eat fish during these days. However, fish is very expensive now and you can't get as much as we used to years before.
My father took us to a place called La Boca (the mouth) where most fishermen sell their fish and where the best fish is supposed to be.
There were some really big and fresh fish, but most of the sea food was very expensive (like $15-20/a kilo of shrimp). We bought just a little bit for a dish we may prepare tomorrow.
The palce did not look too good. It was not clean and paying was a problem (no debit cards, no e-transfers, only cash, and then, if you pay with dollars they may not have change). It would be nice if they accepted Hives 😁, but they don't. We were promoting it with our hats anyway.
We tried to catch a bus on our way back home, but no buses passed for ten minutes. We got impatient and started to walk.
One last picture for today, on the bridge near the public market, where the Manzanares River meets the Cariaco Golf (or the Caribean Sea; it's really hard to tell).
It was fun to go buying fish with my dad and my sister. We hope to do more fun things during the week.
