Vitalik Butterin announced that ethereum probably in August will change it's mining protocol to proof of stake block validation.
This means that no longer miners gonna use graphic cards to mine ethereum and instead they are gonna use locked ethereums in staking pools in order to do that.
This makes ethereum much more greener and friendlier to the environment. Also there is a high probability for ethereum to be more fast as protocol changes.
We live in a world where energy cost is rising day by day. The electricity bills are at all time high and we must ensure that the majority of created energy is as green as possible.
