I love the idea of being able to read other people's thoughts without knowing them - without prejudice - we are all just much more relatable.
I was once saw something similar (also in a coffeeshop) where you could take a note from someone, and leave a random note for someone else... the ide was to leave some wisdom or words of positivity (kinda like a fortune cookie) for the next person.

I'd probably just draw something :)
