Good day Hivers. I trust you all had a wonderful day. Today I'll be sharing with you all a commissioned pencil drawing I made with charcoal pencil on paper.
How did I achieve this?
1- I drew a drafting scale on my paper equivalent to the one on my reference picture. Tho I had issues with the picture my client sent because it was blurry and details wasn't quite visible.
2- I sketched out the outline of the figure,it was looking flat because there was no atom of shades or perspective.
3- I started shading from the lightest tone to the darkest tone. Switching my eyes from the reference to my paper and my paper to my reference at intervals so as to be sure I didn't miss anything.
I am right handed,so I mostly start my shading from the left hand side so as not to blur em with my hands. I started from her scarf downward, applying all shades of light and dark to get a suitable result.
4- I made sure i was satisfied with the face before I go down to work on her dress,for me,I don't usually put much details on the dress so it doesn't compete with the details of the face.
