Tomorrow is the feast of Baptism. But this post is not about religion. I’m not a religious person at all. But I had an interesting experience.
In our country, on the holiday of Baptism, it is customary to swim in open water. Of course, not everyone agrees to do this, because this is the end of January ... But once, when I was working in the office, one of the employees said: "Let's go swimming in the ice hole!" And you won’t believe it, but everyone agreed!
Winter was very cold, it was about 20 degrees below zero! We went to the river. There were quite a lot of people. And we did it! And I have to say that it was amazing. Of course, it was not very pleasant to plunge into ice water. But then! When I returned ashore and threw a towel over myself, a minute later, an unusual heat began to rise from within me! It was an amazing feeling.
We repeated this experiment the following year. And what should I say. This next winter was not so cold. And it ruined everything. There was no such strong contrast between the temperature of the water and the temperature of the air, so it was harder to go into the water and after swimming there was no this amazing feeling of heat inside.
If you want to try to dive into the ice hole, be sure to prepare a large towel, a towel that you will stand on, as well as socks made of natural fabric. And, of course, do not do it alone.
