Hello guys!
Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. I'm writing this post to follow Splinterlands Mage Secrets Battle Challenge Holy Protection. I don't know why, it's quite difficult to get a battle with this rulesete. But I was finally able to get this battle after spending a lot of time. I hope you'll like what I'm sharing.
Well, I'm neither a pro or a tournament hero. I simply enjoy sharing strategies and battles that I find intriguing. I fought on modern battles Gold leagues using my scholarship account with IGN nightmareinbone, and the combat methods I'd give might not be applicable in other leagues due to the variances in ability that open up in each level.
Ok guys, without further ado, let's get straight to the heart of this post!
BATTLE PREPARATION
Challenge Rules
RULESET: Holy Protection
Description:
All units gain the Divine Shield ability which reduces the damage of the first attack received to 0.
Divine Shield will be re-applied when a unit is Resurrected.
Blast damage will remove Divine Shield.
Battle Rulesets
The rulesets in this battle are:
- Ferocity (All Monsters have the Fury ability)
- Holy Protection (All Monsters have the Devine Shield ability)
- Close Range (Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles)
- Mana Capacity 33
- Active Element Fire, Earth, Life and Dragon.
Line Up and Strategy
This is a middle mana battle with medium mana capacity. The strategies I will implement include:
- Concentrate the attack on 1 tirik, without Opportunity, Sneak and Snipe monsters.
- Fill all slots, even if you only use low mana monsters, as long as the target is the front monster.
| Monster | Position | Abilities | Strategy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Obsidian | Summoner | +1 Magic | Obsidian will increase the damage of all magic monsters. This will be very useful for line-ups with magic troops. |
| Pelacor Mercenary | First | Flying, Heal | A very powerful reward card because it has Heal ablity, and with mana 7 already has a large enough Armor and HP. I chose this monster as the main tank. |
| Regal Peryton | Second | Flying | Magic Monster that has very high speed and Flying ability. I put this monster in second place as a second tank, so it will replace Pelacor Mercenary in first place if it dies. As an attacker, this monster relies on speed and also increased damage from summoner buffs, and as a tank this monster has a fairly large HP and high speed combined with Flying ability will increase the chance of avoiding Melee and Ranged attacks |
| Queen Mycelia | Third | Protect, Amplify, Triage | Queen Mycelia as an attacker is also a defensive support in this line-up. Protect ability will provide an additional 2 Armor for all friend monsters, and in addition this monster also has a Triage ability that will restore the HP of the friend monster that receives the most attacks but not the one in first place. Amplify abilities will be useless because there is no Reflect Magic, Return Fire or Thorn monsters in this battle formation. |
| Goblin Psychic | Fourth | Thank Heal, Affliction, Silence | Support + Attacker monsters are very important because Goblin Psychic has a Thank Heal ability that will restore the HP of what comrade monster is in the first position. In addition, this monster also has an Affliction ability that if it hits the target, the target will no longer be able to be healed. Silence ability makes all monsters, their magic damage reduced. |
| Djinn Biljka | Fifth | Camouflage, Void, Weaken | In battles with normal rulesets and middle-high mana, I rarely use this monster in my line-up, but it's different now, focusing on one target point, I think even though this monster has a small HP and speed, but this monster will be very useful because with low mana it has considerable damage, let alone getting buffs from Summoners. |
| Venari Spellsmith | Last | Dispel, Amplify | Neutral monsters with Dispel and Amplify abilities. Just like Queen Mycelia, her Amplify is useless, but her magic damage will help in attacks. Dispel ability also makes the target lose all positive influence from all friendly monsters. |

I've also included a youtube video of this battle that you can play right away.
This battle is quite interesting, where the opponent loses badly, even though the strength and level of the monsters are the same. Even though all my monsters have speed that loses to the opponent, the opponent's strategy looks very chaotic, but the opponent's attack target spreads in all directions because there are Snipe, and also Sneak monsters. Even though in this battle all monsters have the Devine Shield ability where the main attacks received by monsters will be ignored. This means that it takes 2x attacks or 2 rounds to make the attack actually hit the target.
STRATEGY DISCUSSION
My strategy is very effective in this battle, and the next time I get this ruleset, I will also use the same strategy by focusing on 1 target, or if it is not possible to focus on 1 target then there are at least 2 monsters that have the same target. This will make the attack more effective. You can see for yourself from this battle, opponents whose monsters have separate targets are very ineffective.
