“What time is your flight” he was asking for the third time already, since the morning.

“Ten past nine” she told with a weak voice looking down.

“We have our last hour” he told after looking at the watch.

The word ''last'' sounded rude and strong and she didn’t like it.

“Let’s have breakfast then. I don’t trust airline food.”

“Ok”

They took a table in the snack bar of the airport and ordered a French breakfast.

“At times like this, when it’s so important to find the right words I have nothing to say.”

“It’s ok; I am not expecting any words, dear. They won’t change anything.”

“Do you think we’ll meet again, or we will have to get back to the internet and phones?”

“Let’s leave it to the chance.”

The air between them was tense and full of all those untold words and intensified feelings. They both felt very uneasy and didn’t know how to cope with the situation.

“When I was lonely and met you online I thought that only you could save me and I hoped you were as I imagined you would be. It turned out that you were much better, but nevertheless I feel much worse than before…”

She didn’t know what to say. She has never been so confused and it felt like all this was happening to someone else.

“I’ve never been very good in telling thank you, but this is the case I have to do my best” she smiled and he felt like there was not enough air to breathe.

“I just want you to know that I really understand and appreciate everything. You made me find out what being happy means, who I really am and how colorful one’s life can be if one is brave enough to act crazy.”

He didn’t know what to answer and they had 10 minutes of silence.

The clock on the wall was running, cutting off their limited time. She smiled.

“What?”

“Nothing special, I just thought of a way to make all this less painful”

her eyes had sparkles and he knew she’s going to do yet another crazy thing.

That’s partly why he was crazy about her, she was so unpredictable!

She leaned over the table and kissed his lips. It felt soft, tender and sad.

“I’ll go and pay the bill and you have to repeat this when I come back”

He needed a few minutes to freshen up his mind, put his thoughts and guts together and tell her everything she needed to know before the departure.

“Ok” she didn’t look in his eyes and she hoped he wouldn’t see the tears waiting to come down.

He left and she felt that it’s the only chance. She took her handbag and went away. Slowly first and then running…

She was running and crying at the same time. She decided to skip the plane, get back to the city and think everything over; because she wasn’t sure she was doing the right thing.

He came back to the table and found it empty.

“A way to make all this less painful,” he thought.

Well, if she thinks it’s less painful that way for her, he will leave her alone for the last 15 minutes she had for them.

He took a cigarette and went out thinking of his upcoming life without her.

At that same moment she was in a taxi, on a way back to the city, thinking …
