Hi @ninjamike … An upper/lower split is manageable for general fitness training and rewarding. It becomes more of a chore to train the whole upper body in a single session only for those who may be into serious bodybuilding for mass. The intensity required in that circumstance can burn one out before reaching the end of a workout.
These days, I still go for the intensity of the 'burn' to failure even though I'm a more casual bodybuilding enthusiast. I perform less movements and sets than in my younger days and pyramid up in weight to usually only the fourth or fifth rep range. Then I finish with a lighter, breakdown set or two till failure (sometimes called a 'pump' set)
It's still probably more intense than I need to do at my age, but "old habits are sometimes hard to break" :>)
Good to hear that you're still training to stay a healthier 'you'... I can post a 'common' split that I sometimes still use and might be helpful for you to try, but these days I train too instinctively in a way that would not be easy to document for others.
Always nice to hear from you and know you're still strolling/scrolling Hive at least once in awhile.
Ciao, my friend.
Oh yeah...I almost forgot about your 'cat' comment... I must be a feline 'magnet' of sorts?!?!? Maybe having something to do with having been born in the 'Year of the Tiger'?
