My #Wednesdaywalk post today is based on a few walks I did over the last month. I am glad that I met with insects and I can now share my photos. Before going any further I wish to acknowledge tattoodjay@tattoodjay, the creator of #Wednesdaywalk, it is a tag that gives me the extra little boost to walk.

Seeing insects has not taken place for a very long time as I am usually too focussed walking very fast with my eyes only on the path. But, in the little tourist town of Montville located in the Sunshine Coast hinterland I was in a relaxed mode, strolling and admiring pots of different pretty blooms. It was when I leaned into the white alyssums that I actually saw the bumble bee busily drinking the nectar from the flowers. My insects eyes turned on very quickly.

This bee was not open for a chat, he was too into the flowers. But imagine the conversation we could have had about the all important work for a bee. We really need bees. The environment needs bees. This bee ignored me, and was not the least fazed as I got up close and personal.

Unfortunately no more bees were to be seen on that occasion but here is a pic of extra pretty double purple petal petunias. The darker the colour the petunias the stronger the scent. I couldn't resist the urge to bend very close to take a deep slow breath. Thank goodness a bee wasn't hiding in on of the petals.

My next little walk took place at one of the cottages called The French Cottage at the beautiful Spicers Cloverly Estate positioned near Montiville. It was the venue for my daughter's wedding weekend. We had just arrived and was busy exploring as one does with a new place. Much to my delight I saw a little stripy bug sitting very calmly on the glass door frame. Imagine talking to this little guy about what he sees in this cottage with all the visiting guests.

When he kindly shifted from the door to the floor which allowed me to get a good look of his back view. What a gorgeous boy or girl!

My last little walk was taken in my garden this afternoon and this led me to his guy sitting very still on the blind.

Grasshoppers have the most remarkable suit of armour protecting their bodies. They are very ancient animals going back hundreds of years. I would not be surprised if they weren't one of the attacking hoarding plagues mentioned in the Bible.

But right now in my yard it is spring and all they want is to eat my plants. I am sure we could have a few good chats and reach a comprise if we only we could sit down around a table!

This last photo taken from inside the deck looking out at the grasshopper on the outside is my last one. I really like the drama of this photo, it looks like it is a free falling alien shadow.

So ends my extended #Wednesdaywalk post for this week, thank you for coming along.
