Attention is vitality. It connects you with others.
It makes you eager. Stay eager.
- Susan Sontag

Learning friendship lessons is hard slog. We get it right and we get it wrong. So of course a mixture of feelings has to come to most people's minds if asked to describe friendships, some being warm and fussy with friends who have made a positive impact, and some hurtful insincere friends who have made a negative impact.

It is the good trustworthy interactive friendships that make us feel good, feel supported and knowing that someone has our backs. The willingness to give, to go the extra yard, to look after and spend time with. Friendships magically nurture the heart and soul, all you have to do is imagine what you want, wave a fairy wand in your mind and voila it happens.

This was me yesterday after talking with a dear friend who was needing a friend. I knew in my heart of hearts my Sunday plans at the Sunshine Coast could wait for another weekend. Suddenly I was eager for a Sunday road trip into the country. My friend needed friendship nurturing. I instantly pictured myself sitting at her kitchen table chatting, eating cake and drinking a cup of coffee. I knew it was going to be a beautiful Sunday.

This little drive in the country is a very pretty one and one that I always enjoy. So different from my sandy beach scene. Check out this magnificent big tree photo opportunity. A 5 minute stop allowed me take the shot.

Driving along her curvy road was extra entertaining as it was raining which made the wet trees and footpaths extra impressively green.

My few hours with my friend was indeed worthwhile. She took only a little bit of time to change from sad and lonely into happy and sparkly over coffee, cake and laughter. How I love it when a little bit of caring transforms a special friend of mine. It has to be magic!

A photo was snapped and shared to leave with my friend, a memory of our togetherness to keep until we sit at her table again in the very foreseeable future. It was too lovely a day not to go back in a couple of weeks.
