Here is Take 2 of the spare tyre saga for our Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid. The colour is called Satin Blue with sparkles shining in the sunlight.
Take 1 post was published at the end of December last year, over 2 months ago. It is crazy how the time flies by I tell myself, but in actual fact I can honestly say it had to do more with spending $1,500 for a new tyre rim to fit the normal sized tyre. Regrettably the spacer tyre rim was too narrow to use.
Did we want it that much and our we prepared to pay this amount?
After a nano second visualising a flat tyre in the middle of nowhere and a spacer tyre that would only let us travel 80 kms an hour for only 40 kms, we deemed it well and truly worthwhile. Even if we never have a flat ever again the peace of mind is worth it.
Thankfully the flat tyre I had last year was caused by me running over a nail on a road in front of a construction site. It turned out to be a very slow overnight flat at home in the garage and only to be found out the next morning.
So, with many thanks to the wonderful every bright bubbly lovely @dswigle for creating the #marketFriday community, I am one of the many happy Hive bloggers posting another very practical market post under this fun and fabulous tag.
Today we found ourselves at one of the Toyota dealership on the Sunshine Coast where we originally bought the Rav.
This is where my husband handed over the credit card, a painless experience I was told.
The next step was a drive over to Bridgestone Tyre service for the rim to be fitted in the new tyre.
The short time the mechanic took to fit the tyre onto the rim allowed me the opportunity to explore the garage workplace. And there to my delight was an oldish car hood up and engine suspended on a chain nearby.
Eventually the job was done, the new tyre was fitted into the space and off we drove home feeling extra good that we went ahead and bought a new spare. It was definitely time for coffee and cake.
The lesson learned was certainly an expensive one but we intend to always is ensure that with our next new car the spare tyre in the boot is a normal sized one.

Sending greetings to lovely @dswigle, I love the #marketFriday community.

I am finishing my #marketFriday with some purple flower power that is in full force in my summer garden. I am blessed with pretty flowers blooms all year round because of the temperate climate of South East Queensland.
Sharing with flower love everyone on Hive is my intention and hope that these flowers bring a little touch of colour to the bloggers living in beautiful cold winter land on the other side of the world.
This little myrtle flower is poking joy through the hedge with a little hello the last couple of weeks.
And for a extra special end here is a single petal hibiscus.
Gratitude flower loving @dswigle, always a flower girl for bringing this extra lovely tag to Hive. I love it.*
