The delicate petals, the many shades and hues all softly, brightly harmoniously, creatively communicating messages of love. It does not matter the age, the male or female, how long the relationship is or for what reason flowers are given they are just a perfect gift.

Flowers in a vase, pot or garden bed magically and delightfully weave happiness and light.

Whether given as a plant in a pot, in a posy or as a big bunch flowers to generate a happy high and make a heart sing.

It is said that the giving of flowers is one of most loving gestures one can give another, words are not needed. Perfect in times of special celebration of joy, of times full of sadness and grief and the I am sorry gift please forgive me.

Flowers are so versatile, wonderful, unique always bringing a smile of gratitude and filling hearts with love and gratitude.

How did the connection of love, relationships and flowers start in this wondrous world of ours?

It was the hit song, 'You Don't Bring Me Flowers Anymore' officially sang as a duet by Barbara Streisand and Neil Diamond 1980 that successfully and forever linked all 3 together. Love relationships and flowers forever formed. It was so successful that the single sold over a million copies. This was the introduction that broken love meant no more flowers. It was the song that pulled at the heart strings of so many young people including mine. The tough lesson; young love is vulnerable, fragile and delicate and be prepared for break-ups.

Thankfully after a broken heart or two during my single days, my true love eventually came along and have over a very long happy relationship enjoyed lots of flowers from the florist and picked from the garden, all given with love.

Here is that song of all sad heartfelt songs, a flash from the past, for the friends around my age on hive who heard this song, loved it or bought the single vinyl in the 1980's, and for those younger people who are intrigued enough to hear it for the first time wondering what the fuss is all about.
