I for one am a sucker when it comes to sunset coloured skies. And last Friday night was a sky full of colour over at least an hour. You see I was the passenger in our drive home from Brisbane last Friday and could snap away as much as I liked. The first photo was taken as the night started to set in. The pretty light in the sky over the highway was too tempting not to.

The time is 6:27pm:

When I looked to the west this is what I saw, gorgeous isn't?

The time is 6:30:

The next two photos were taken 5 minutes later and what was interesting is that the sky colours were less intense.

The time is 6:35pm:

The next photo was taken 8 minutes later. It was evident that the sunset was fading.

The time is 6:43pm:

My last photo was taken 1 minute later only. The night is coming in fast.

The time is 6:44pm:

Now the sun is sinking
into the golden west:
Birds and bees and children
have all gone to rest;
And the merry streamlet,
As it runs along,
With a voice of sweetness
Sings its evening song.
