It's a beautiful Saturday morning today and I can hear the birds chirping outside.
I am sipping my coffee today and processing all that has happened in the past 3 days. A lot. And I have a lot to write about.
But first, let me let you all know that my stepfather (he has a lung infection) has been sent home from the hospital because otherwise they don't have room for Covid- 19 patients. And the staff is assigned to the Covid- 19 patients as much as possible, so there is little staff for the other patients. Pathetic all around, but also understandable.
My stepfather still can't walk properly, and moans in pain all the time. But they removed fluid from his lungs and sent him home. In 4 days he has to go again for further checkup and examination.
As for my grandmother, we suddenly need to raise $ 3000 for her surgery and that is quite a lot of money here. I think the average Surinamese earns about $ 1500 a year. Moreover, it is a very risky operation, especially how my grandmother is already 91 years old.
But still I take my time to enjoy my coffee, because worrying about everything makes little sense. I have another exam on monday, so I will prepare for that now.
I believe that God loves me enough to show me the way. And the Universe never leaves my hand. And I am grateful for that.
