A reef of angels.
My friends, the painting that I present today in this illustration, I made it because since I was little, I have always liked fish and I even had fish tanks and I still have baby fish at home, but in reality The fish that always caught my attention are the scalars, also known as angel fish, for this reason I wanted to paint them within a beautiful reef, as follows:
- First I made the graphite pencil sketch of the algae and corals, leaving a space for the angel fish that are always together in a school or family, then I started giving color to the water with blue and greenish tones.
- I continue giving color to the reef water, marking the black lines that highlight the fish, and I also began to give details to the algae and corals with colored lines and dots.
- I detail the corals with tiny dots with the intention of representing their texture and the variety of colors with which I paint them, it is so that they look alive, I also began to paint the sand of the reef, with the gouache technique. colors like green, orange, blue and ocher, letting the paint drip so that it mixed with each other, because I wanted it to revive the sand and water, creating the atmosphere of the reef...
- I darkened the part of the sand, to give some shadows and create a contrast between the fish and the aquatic environment that surrounds them.
- I continue giving color, point by point and with contrasting colors to my reef of angels.
- Here I intensified the colors more, to give rise to the illustration:
A reef of angels.
Aquatic nature is a world very different from ours and incredibly beautiful, what I have known about angel fish is that although they always walk together and move together in their school calmly, they move slowly but always together, at the same time they are very territorial, that is, they do not allow anyone to steal their space or their peace. Anyone who dares to invade their personal space and is not to their liking is attacked incessantly, but As long as they are respected, they show peace and tranquility, within their reef.
I made the illustration remembering how she decorated my fish tank when I was a young girl of 15, so I hope with all my heart that you liked the illustration of the angel reef.
Thank you very much for your kind attention.
Sincerely:
Angélica García.
