Hello dear friends,

What a week that is now coming to an end. Since the spring in Germany has already shown what he can. In the sun more than 20 degrees Celsius and very much sun moved me to spend a lot of time outside. At the beginning of the week I went by bike to the nearby Wildbachtal. For this I also checked the situation at one of "my" quarry ponds on several days. I have never seen the Mondsee of Mondfeld so full. It must have rained properly...

was für eine Woche, die jetzt zu Ende geht. Da hat der Frühling in Deutschland schon mal gezeigt, was er kann. In der Sonne mehr als 20 Grad Celsius und Sonne satte bewegten mich dazu, viel Zeit draußen zu verbringen. Anfang der Woche bin ich mal mit dem Rad ins nahe Wildbachtal gefahren. Dazu habe ich auch gleich an mehreren Tagen die Lage an einem "meiner" Baggerseen gecheckt. So voll gelaufen habe ich den Mondsee von Mondfeld noch nie gesehen. Es muß ordentlich geregnet haben...

The water has taken over the entire, albeit small, sandy beach. I was also once with the feet in it. However, the lake still has very cool water temperature ;-)

Das Wasser hat den kompletten, wenn auch kleinen, Sandstrand eingenommen. Ich war auch mal mit den Füßen drin. Der See hat allerdings noch ziemliche Kneipbad Temperatur. ;-)

The Henneburg of Stadprozelten is in sight. However, not from the lake's bathing beach. The anglers have more of it. My favorite picture of this trip is the clubhouse of the anglers of Mondfeld. If you listen very carefully, you may hear the buzzing of bumblebees and bees in the freshly blossomed tree.

Die Henneburg von Stadprozelten ist in Sichtweite. Allerdings nicht vom Badestrand des Sees. Die Angler haben mehr davon. Mein Lieblingsbild dieser Ausfahr ist das Vereinshaus der Angler von Mondfeld. Wenn ihr ganz genau hinhört, könnt ihr vielleicht das Summen der Hummeln und Bienen in dem frisch erblühten Baum hören.

Lake Mondsee is also easy to reach from Kreuzwertheim. It is about 12 km to get there. I have also again taken the camper parking in sight. The beer garden of the Spessart brewery has not yet opened. But the place is already quite well visited, as one can see well even from the Wertheim side of the Main (river). If this place should be full, one can try it in Wertheim under the Odenwald bridge. On this site you have in high summer neat shade, but just unfortunately also a lot of car traffic through the Wertheim main road, which runs directly above you. I would always try to get a place in Kreuzwertheim.

Der Mondsee ist auch von Kreuzwertheim aus gut zu erreichen. Es sind etwa 12 km bis dorthin. Ich habe auch nochmal den Wohnmobilstellplatz in Augenschein genommen. Noch hat der Biergarten der Spessartbrauerei nicht geöffnet. Aber der Platz ist schon ganz gut besucht, wie man sogar von der Wertheimer Seite aus gut sehen kann. Sollte dieser Platz voll sein, kann man es in Wertheim unter der Odenwaldbrücke probieren. Auf diesem Stellplatz hat man im Hochsommer ordentlich Schatten, aber eben leider auch viel Autoverkehr durch die Wertheimer Hauptverkehrsader, die direkt über einem verläuft. Ich würde stets probieren, in Kreuzwertheim einen Platz zu bekommen.

Auf meinem Weg nach Boxtal am Fuße des Wildbachtals, habe ich noch einen Stop am Anlegeplatz der Fähre zwischen Mondfeld und Stadtprozelten gemacht. Diese Stelle am Main ist auch immer schön.

Arriving in Boxtal, I found this lush meadow right next to the main road. There is something like this only in early spring. In addition, it seems that they finally build a bridge for the bike path over the torrent. It is not nice that left of the Main something 7km between Boxtal and Freudenberg are not developed for cyclists. You always have to ride on the Bavarian side. Woe to the one who does not know that. He must then take the partly very narrow, winding and busy main road. I drive this piece of road also only very reluctantly and evade then rather in the mountainous terrain. But I'm also local knowledge and fit enough for it....

In Boxtal angekommen, habe ich direkt neben der Hauptstaße diese saftige Wiese gefunden. Sowas gibt es nur im frühen Frühling. Außerdem scheint man nun endlich eine Brücke für den Radweg über den Wildbach zu bauen. Es ist nämlich nicht schön, daß links des Mains etwas 7km zwischen Boxtal und Freudenberg nicht für Fahrradfahrer ausgebaut sind. Man muß immer auf der bayrischen Seite fahren. Wehe dem, der das nicht weiß. Der muß dann auf die teilweise sehr enge, kurvige und stark befahrene Hauptstraße ausweichen. Ich fahre dieses Stück auch nur sehr ungerne und weiche dann lieber in das bergige Gelände aus. Aber ich bin eben auch ortskundig und fit genug dafür....

There I must not look too long, otherwise I become melancholy. Rather, I still post a little of the Mondsee ...

Den Rückweg bin ich auch dann auch querfeldein über den Berg im Schenkenwald gefahren. Leider wurde hier wieder sehr viel Holz gemacht. Viele schöne Stellen sind erstmal unwiederbringlich verloren. Da darf ich nicht zu lange hingucken, sonst werde ich wehmütig. Lieber poste ich noch ein wenig vom Mondsee...
