I have made a couple of videos on YouTube regarding the whole Russiagate issue. There is absolutely nothing about Russia “influencing” our election that makes any sense in the way it is presented. I have asked people pushing Russiagate some very simple questions. They can never answer what the goal of Russia would be. Instead I meet with invariable and predictable accusations. “You're a Russian agent/troll/bot/whatever, take your pick of any and all the above.
What would the GOAL of Russia be?
To lessen the chances of war between our countries? Gee, that would suck to have LESS chance of war.
To increase trade? Yeah, that's nefarious. So if WE expand trade with other countries it's good business. If THEY expand trade it's evil. Am I getting this right?
They want us to become Communist! Um, Russia hasn't been Communist since 1991. Plus the whole expanding trade thing is pretty capitalist, so that's a contradiction.
Russian oligarchs are a threat! Again, the existence of Russian oligarchs negate the Communism aspect. Besides, their oligarchs are a threat but ours are just fine? Not seeing it.
The following is an expansion of something I wrote on FB. It is a comparison between their system and our own.
Russia paid off the last of their national debt in May 2017.
While we sink deeper into debt daily.
They have universal healthcare.
We have people dying from lack of healthcare and people declaring bankruptcy for medical costs.
They are directly involved in one armed conflict, Syria. Helping Donbass against Ukraine.
We have been at war for 16 years, expanded to bombing 7 countries. They also spend less than 10% the amount we spend on our military.
They host peace talks.
We threaten over 80 countries with economic sanctions.
They have less than 10 military bases outside their country.
We have 1000 foreign military bases (20 per US state). Plus another 600 domestic bases (12 per US state).
They make peaceful trade deals selling oil and food. In fact, they sold two tankers of LNG to Boston because US LNG was so expensive it would have left many with no heat during the winter.
We export garbage and sell weapons to our enemies at a financial loss.
They ejected all Rothschild banks.
We are ruled by the same banks. The banks rule the government, the government rules us.
Kindly note that nowhere do I say I want to live there. (Too damn cold for me, for one thing!) Nowhere do I say their system is perfect. This is merely a comparison of their government to ours and calls deeply into question the rhetoric of their government being the great evil it is portrayed to be.
We cannot accuse them of being racist, being homophobic or misogynistic without taking a good, hard, long look at what is happening in this country by right wing fanatics.
When you take a good look at the comparison of governments listed above, then I say if Russia wants to manipulate and even take over our government, I say we freaking LET THEM!!!
