I couldn't find an official definition in English, so I had to come up with one as close as possible. If at the end of this post someone knows it, let me know in the comments.
It turns out that in Cuba we have an architectural tradition that dates from the 17th century to the present. It's a fan-shaped fence with sharp points that had several uses, such as protecting the house from thieves, decorative element and, most importantly, to delimit the property of each person from that of his neighbor.
These pieces of forged iron have not only survived the passing of the centuries, but today they're still used for everything for which they were created, especially as a decorative element due to their great beauty and variety of designs. So much so that they can even be found in modern homes as a result of the antique trade and the typical bad taste of some people.
