To my mind, the most significant aspect of this was the church failing to secure land for the common believer...I'm posting shortly on this issue as the same grievous error has happened again in modernity. It didn't have to: Distributist ideas were known but abandoned likely via the manipulations of the usurers who've also turned Christendom into what I call a 'carnival barker grift show'...Of course, none of this is Christ like so in reality the moniker Christian doesn't really mean anything today other than spiritually deaf, dumb, and blind.
