The fight for net neutrality has taken a turn for the better as Netflix takes a swing at companies like Comcast. Speedtest.net by Ookla is one of the most popular internet speed testing sites out there.
Comcast knows that. Contact their support, and they recommend using Speedtest.net to check your speed.
So of course, Comcast prioritizes traffic to their servers. Need more proof?
Netflix, being a competitor to the big media empire has made their own internet speed testing site, Fast.com which is on Netflix's own servers. If Comcast was to prioritize internet speeds to Fast.com, they'd have to speed up service to Netflix.
So now you can easily see for yourself the differences in internet speed when your ISP does and does not prioritize internet speeds to different sites. I had a difference of 20 Mbps.
Kudos to you, Netflix.
