-Do you believe in God?
-Yes, I believe in God.
-But that is so outdated, so prehistoric, so old fashioned belief?!
-I don’t believe in God as some foreign entity that dwells in the sky
I believe that the God is within every single person on this planet
And you don’t have to call it God
Call it power of will
Call it passion for life
Call it your moral compass
Call it your personal drive that motivates you to go forward
Call it faith in yourself that you will be able to successfully finish all the tasks that you set up for yourself
And the faith that you will be able to overcome burdens and hurdles that come in your way every day
For me, it doesn’t matter how you will call it
I call it God, but that is not the point
The point is, at least for me, if I lose my drive, my passion, my faith in my God
If I lose the faith that I will be able to overcome all of the obstacles
If I lose that, then I would feel like I just gave up, I surrendered
And when it comes to Church
I have respect for it because it is a tradition of my people
A tradition of my ancestors and of my kin
And I know where I came from
Where my roots lay
Who my ancestors were
And I respect my ancestors and my tradition
And Church is a part of it all
So, my short answer would be:
Yes, I believe in God
