For this year, we decided to prepare a quiet meal at home and spend the day relaxed, we prepared a pork loin with fine herbs, salad type capresa and ripe tostón (which we love), and for dessert a rich lemon pie (after I share the recipe).
However, a special occasion was presented, it turns out that we received a voice note from a child named Felipe, inviting us to visit him in the hospital for his birthday (he turned 13 years old). So we made a cake called "Smoothie" (then show them how it is done).
Felipe's case is complicated, I briefly summarize his story: It is a boy who spent every afternoon to sell cupcakes with his younger brother (6 years) to help his mother since they are from a fairly humble home, one day Felipe cut a finger in his hand and it was infected, so he was taken to a public hospital in our city where he contracted a bacterium called streptococcus, had several complications among these lost mobility of his finger completely because the bacteria He ate the cartilage, also paralysis, fevers, pneumonia ... Since December of last year it seemed to be fine, but a week ago it fell again and they had to operate on one foot. So far it seems to be fine, they have asked for help with their medications and fortunately many of us have been able to help them.
Then to end the day, we shared a very nice time together in a cafe in our city called MOA, it is a very beautiful place and our ice cream was delicious (as seen in the photo):
