Paso 8
Ahora vamos a decorar.

Hello dear friends of Hive Diy, hoping you are doing great and keep sharing such wonderful ideas that I have seen in this beautiful community. Today I want to share with you a tutorial to make a book cover. In January I bought a Bible and I wanted to buy a lining but I didn’t like the ones I had so my mom bought me some wrapping paper to cover it and keep the book better, but because of the use it broke a few weeks ago 😅, so I thought of how to make one with the fabric of a jean that I tore and with cardboards that I had saved from the Block of stripe that I use for college, I hope you like it.
• ½ mt. Of jean fabric or ½ leg of a jean.
• 2 strips of jean fabric
• 2 mt. Navy blue thread
• Gold mustard
• Green mustard
• 1 mt. Nylon 0.4
• 2 letter size cardboard
• Scissors
• Needle
• Pins
• Pencil
• Ruler
• Glue stick
• Fine marker
• Stapler.
Inner cardboard lining
Step 1
We measure the size of one book cover and the spine in 1 cardboard leaving enough space to glue the other side of the book. Then we cut and fold the cardboard so that it takes shape.
Step 2
In the second cardboard we take out the other side of the book and cut.
Step 3
We glue with glue stick the second side of the book made with cardboard in the previous step with the excess next to the spine that we left from the cardboard of the first step. For safety reasons I also added some staples to prevent it from coming unstuck.
Cloth lining
Step 4
We open the jean fabric and with the help of the cardboard lining we mark with a marker where the book will be, highlighting where the spine is.
Step 5
Cut the squares on the top of the spine with the help of the scissors.
Step 6
The leftovers on the sides of the fabric are folded so that the threads are facing inwards and the shape is given with the help of pins to start sewing with the help of a needle and navy blue thread.
Step 7
Once we have the seams done on both sides, we sew the jean strips close to the spine of the book so that it can be well fastened.
Step 8
Now we are going to decorate. For this we insert a nylon needle in a needle and introduce it into the fabric from the back side. We insert green beads and then insert the needle into the fabric and pull it out to the side of where we put it, insert gold beads in the needle and cross over the last green bead we inserted previously, insert green beads again, pass the thread through the fabric and add gold beads to cross over the last green bead, repeat once more and knot.
That’s it, we now have a homemade lining for our book.
