A pesar de que hoy día la representación femenina en los deportes de motor es mayor a la proporción de hace unos 50 años, aun sigue siendo mínima en comparación con los participantes masculinos, son realmente escasas las mujeres que han destacado en este deporte en los últimos años, siendo uno de los casos mas sobresalientes Suzie Wolff, quien llego a ser piloto de prueba para Williams en Formula 1.
En este orden de ideas, tenemos el caso de Tatiana Calderón, sobre quien se trata este escrito, originaria de Colombia, esta chica es la única mujer en haber competido en la Formula 2, siendo la dupla de Anthoine Hubert en 2019, debido a un rendimiento no favorable su contrato no fue renovado para la temporada siguiente, pero esto no detuvo a Tatiana, la misma se abrió paso en la Super Formula Japonesa y en la IndyCar estadounidense, donde estuvo compitiendo desde ese entonces hasta hoy dia, también teniendo participaciones en carreras importantes como la francesa "Le mans" y las 24 horas de Daytona. Lastimosamente, su equipo patrocinador se atraso con los pagos a la organización, quedando removida de la competición.

A Tatiana se le presento la oferta de suplantar al turco Cem Bölükbasi en el equipo Charouz Racing System para Formula 2, luego de no solo un rendimiento muy por debajo del esperado por su equipo, sino tambien por los altercados de su padre con su entrenador. Pero esta no contaba con el dinero necesario que las carreras acarrean y aqui es donde entra Karol G a demostrar sororidad a su compatriota y decide ser su patrocinadora. Es por esto que vemos como el monoplaza de Calderon tiene el distintivo corazon de puas, homonimo al tatuaje de Karol y las palabras "Bichota" y "Makinon" haciendo alusion a las canciones de la misma.
En mi opinión este es un gran paso no solo para Tatiana, sino para las mujeres en general, a pesar de que existe la Serie W, que fue creada para darle visibilidad a las mujeres en los deporte de motor, es una realidad que no tiene la misma cobertura ni la misma envergadura que las categorías de Formula de la FIA. Entonces, cualquier oportunidad o acercamiento que puedan tener las chicas en estas carreras ha de ser aprovechada y no solo aprovechada sino también celebrada.

In my opinion this is a big step not only for Tatiana, but for women in general, although there is the W Series, which was created to give visibility to women in motorsport, it is a reality that does not have the same coverage or the same scope as the FIA Formula categories. So, any opportunity or approach that girls can have in these races has to be taken advantage of and not only taken advantage of but also celebrated.
