What is Unity 3D? Unity 3D is a Game Engine to create 2D and 3D games. Using the Game Engine will simplify the process of making games than without a Game Engine like making a game from scratch with coding. Unity 3D is currently only available for Windows and Mac. For Linux, it looks like it is still in the experimental stage.
