That's called promotion mate, and if you check you can see that bidbots currently are not profitable, so I'm basically investing in steem for to promote my project...

Seems like I'm one of the poorly informed people :) SMT lauch was planned for March and I wasn't able to find any other info from Steem Inc. about new release dates.
