The well-being that comes from being with yourself exists and is the foundation of our peace and emotional maturity. Some people think that choosing solitude is a mistake. I'm not talking about the kind of solitude that means isolating yourself from the world, severing ties, or being completely alone and denying yourself happiness. No, that kind of solitude isn't even healthy.

I'm talking about solitude by choice, about not feeling despair when you're alone, the kind of solitude that allows you to connect with yourself, that makes you feel alive, meditate, and dream... The kind of solitude that doesn't feel suffocating or desperate, the kind where you're alone but still in the company of yourself.

The kind of solitude that allows you to have healthy connections, relationships that nourish your soul, where you don't need that person to feel that your life has value and meaning, where that person complements you, but you are fulfilled within yourself.

That solitude allows you to choose the people who will be in your circle because you feel they contribute something positive, because they make you feel good, help you grow, and are connected by beautiful feelings.

Because when you are at peace with yourself, when you feel peace, well-being, joy, have dreams, and love yourself; the people who come into your life don't come to drain you, they don't come to contaminate you, because they are also people who vibrate at the same frequency as you, who have the same energetic, spiritual level... They are people who, in one way or another, are similar, who connect with you. Without even realizing it, you begin to recognize what you need, what you seek for your environment.

But be aware that what you need doesn't come from lack, it comes from fullness, from abundance, because you don't need anyone to cure, heal, or cover up wounds. You are at peace with yourself, but you can allow others to come into your life to share that abundance, never to complete you, but to multiply the magic that already lives within you.

When you have that level of well-being and self-care, your perspective on life and relationships completely changes. You no longer accept crumbs, nor destructive or half-hearted relationships, because you know your worth. And at that level of peace you've reached, you know perfectly well that a bad choice can completely destroy your life.

Because the feeling of peace, the balanced atmosphere, your healthy environment, your mental health, your well-being have been the result of hard work, where you've learned to listen to yourself, to forgive yourself, to respect yourself, and you've learned that you are your only companion until the end of your life.

When you learn to value yourself, you learn to choose yourself. You learn that every relationship is just part of the journey, where you certainly have to respect the other person's worth, but you also demand respect in return. When you know your worth, you know who you are and what you offer, then you stop begging, you stop asking for or accepting crumbs. Life becomes more fascinating when you make peace with yourself, when you learn to see in the mirror the incredible person you are.
