Alright, guys, I have got all five intro videos for Scratch Kitchen up and running. I'm so excited. Getting back to the thing in life that I enjoy greatly. This is going to be a short post because I have few things to do today and I need to get on them and then start recording content. On the sixteenth, I did a list of items that are helpful to have in your kitchen to cook from scratch. I will include a link below with a link to the channel Scratch Kitchen.
Let's review some safety tips in the kitchen:
Don't leave handles out where littles can grab them. (Mom's we have this mastered.)
Keep knives on the shelf when not in use. I am bad about this. I am improving. When you clean them up, you shouldn't put them in the dishwasher. However, if you use them to cut raw meat then clean them in the sink and put them in the sanitize cycle of your dishwasher. Or you can use plain white vinegar or a sanitizing wash product.
When you work with cast iron, never ever put a screaming hot pan in ice-cold water. It will destroy your pan. Seriously, one of my cousins did this when her daughter was little.
Don't go off and leave pans on the cook range. If you have a long day ahead of you this is where the crockpot is your best friend. Throw everything in, cover, and set it for low to cook 4 to 8 hours or high for 4 to 6 hours.
Keep your food processor blades (and any other sharp objects where you can see them). I tend to clean my blades or other sharp utensils right away. This way they can dry and I know I won't reach in water with sharp objects could cut me.
Keep the hands clean. If you have issues with handling raw meats then visit your local restaurant supply store and get a box of food-grade gloves.
Have everything you need at hands reach. It just makes things go smoother.
Know where the fire extinguisher is. Fires happen... If you are just learning to cook then keep baking soda on hand that will put out fires in a hurry. Most important is the deny the fire oxygen. Cover it with something like a lid.
These are just a few tips as a reminder to experienced cooks and/or new cooks.
