I don't have any experience with that, still painting on my good old wacom. But I've heard from a lot of artists that they really recommend the ipad and procreate for painting. They say it feels almost like traditional painting with that special ipad pen.
This is something I would like to try one day. Maybe I can get my hands on a second hand ipad.
