What makes you smile when you have a bad day?
This question seems simple; However, it has its degree of complexity when we think about the definition behind what a bad day implies and yes, I consider myself a woman of faith, a believer in the word of God and only with that; I am conscious of thanking God for every day that allows me to wake up alive, healthy and with my beautiful family. That means total win for me in every sense of the word.
But we are human beings and therefore, imperfect and yes, there are days when we are overcome by those ups and downs of existence that shake us a little and in the end we have nothing left but to sharpen them to see the positive side of each situation, even if it seems that does not possess it.
For example, I have been in the public administration of my country for 24 years, next year I will turn 25 and that means that I am already eligible for retirement; A retirement that I always dreamed of would be the cessation of my working relationship with the institution to which I dedicated so many years, but it would also be the beginning of a period of physical, emotional, economic and social tranquility for me and, therefore, my environment that It depends on me.
And it is really sad when I see the current reality of my Venezuela and I realize that the fruit of my 25 years of remaining on an active payroll in my job position will be calculated based on the $3 salary that the government pays me every month. month for several years; salary that compensates it with a bonus that has no labor impact on the calculation of my social benefits, nor vacations and bonuses as acquired rights of Venezuelan workers.
And I bring this up, because precisely on Friday 10/25 they made me a call from the labor institution to which I belong, alerting me that I am already on a retirement list for the beginning of next year and that call, in instead of being a source of joy and overflowing emotions for me as I imagined in the past; It generated great nostalgia and sadness in my heart for much of the day.
Believe me, it's not because of greed, or anything like that; But in truth it is too unpleasant to feel that an entire professional career passes before your eyes like a movie and far from leaving you with socioeconomic stability; What it leaves you with is the lump in your throat when you imagine the two or three market bags in which 25 years of work will remain; it's not fair.
