Good evening guys , I am here again with one more data post for the week . Today we shall see the top earners in LEO just through mining .

What is LEO mining anyway?

Well it's very very different from traditional crypto mining that we know .

Every hour 30 miners are picked and each one will get 1.06 LEO ( yes its like a lottery) .
- Note that only with respect to LEO it is 30 miners , some other tokens like STEM and CTP picks 20 Miners per hour . Usually it is 20 unless the owners have changed it . Even the token reward too changes so it is dependent on the token .
Can the same user be picked twice in the same hour?
- Yes
Do you need to hold or stake?
- Mining only works for staked miners . If you just hold them and not stake them , you aren't mining.
What's the purpose of this anyway if it doesn't do any computational solving?
- It is for two purpose ( according to me )
  - It is another way of raising money ( Hive ) for the owners
  - Another way of distribution of tokens ( not just authoring and curating but also mining)
What's the difference between LEOM and LEOMM ?
- LEOM stands for Leo Miner and LEOMM stands for Leo Mega Miner . LEOMM has 4x larger chance of getting picked than LEOM .

Since this is not fixed returns and basically it works like a lottery , let's take 3 users from the top 25 and calculate APR .

Let's take the 1st position user - @rollandthomas (Holds both LEOM and LEOMM )

Number of LEOM = 20764.985 * 11.9 ( recent hive price of LEOM) = 247103.3 Hive
Number of LEOMM = 250 * 112 ( recent hive price of LEOMM ) = 28000 Hive
Total Hive = 247103.3 + 28000= 275103.3 Hive .
Total earnings from LEOM and LEOMM in 1 week = 562.02 * 2.21 ( recent hive price of LEO ) = 1242.06 Hive
APR = (1242.06 * 52 / 275103.3) * 100 = 23 % APR

All the APR is calculated based on current price of Miners . Many would have bought the miners are 2 or 3 Hive so there APR is insane in that case.
These are based on pure luck , so this week earnings may not be same as previous or future earnings . I will try to post again next week once if you want to see it to compare .
The APR also depends on other factors like Hive price / price of token in Hive etc .
