Good morning guys . Today it is more of an informative post rather than just data and stats .

Day by day new users are increasing here on Leofinance , so I though it is better to make this post to make them aware of the tax that exists for not posting from LeoFinance front-end .

What is this all about ?

We all know that there are lots of tribes here on Hive and each one has their own front-end ( website ).
Most of the tribes have taxes on your posts/comments if you don't post from their front-end .

What is the point of this tax ?

Various tribes might have various reason for implementing this tax but most general reasons are -

1. You are earning their token but not generating traffic to their site .
2. To control inflation .
3. To prevent multi-tags posts/comments from getting 100% rewards in all tokens ? ( maybe )

What's the tax percentage for all tribes ?

There is no fixed percentage . Different tribes has different percentage . Today I am going to talk about LEO only .

10% or 20% tax on LeoFinance?

I have seen numerous people talk about 10% tax on discord and other places with respect to LeoFinance . Even when I was new to LeoFinance what I was told is there is a 10% tax .

Wrong , it is 20% tax for non-native posts/comments . Examples -

• So he must actually get - 22.32 / 2 = 11.16 LEO as author rewards but

• Actual payout -

• So ( 8.929 / 11.16 ) * 100 = 80% because he posted from non-native frontend .

Let's take another post from Jon itself.

• Front-end used to post - https://leofinance.io

• Total rewards -

• Author rewards expected - 23.36 / 2 = 11.68 LEO

• Actual payout -

Don't ask me where did the 0.002 LEO go , it is just rounding issue lol . But here 100% author rewards was paid to @jongolson .

This data is from 6th February to 5th March ( so that all posts/comments are paid out by now )

Number of posts/comments made with #leofinance tag

Posts vs comments proportion which were made from non-native frontend ( other than LF )

Number of POSTS which is made other than leofinance frontend : 4786
Number of COMMENTS which is made other than leofinance frontend : 15559

Why is this important ?

• Comments are usually rewarded less than posts as we all know . So even if made from non-native frontend it doesn't matter much .

• But posts usually get upvoted more - take for example @jongolson post itself , he had got 90 LEO upvote for one of his post recently , what if he made it from non-native frontend?

  • 90/2 = 45 LEO author reward , 80% of 45 = 36 ( so a loss of 9 LEO which is like 10$ right now )

Where does the remaining 20% go ?

Does it go to @null ? This is the popular perception but the answer is no . Actually it goes to @leoburn account .

Other tribes percentage?

STEM - 50% tax for non-native posts
VIBES - 1 % tax
CTP - 0%
SPORTS - 0%
