“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd” (Matthew 9:36)
Nothing is as frustrating as having an unstable life. Once tour life is unstable, it is unpredictable and unproductive. It is a life without favour because people who will want to deal with you in any way at all will not be able to trust you, due to your instability.
Yesterday we saw the implication of the absence of a shepherd in the life of a person. Today, I want to explore into what a shepherd’s work is in the lives of the sheep to prevent harassments and all the things we saw yesterday.
And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding (Jeremiah 3:15 KJV)
A shepherd feeds:
The word “pastor” is from the word “pasture” which means a grazing place for the sheep. You know your pastor by his ability to feed you. Which means that not every pastor can feed you.
He feeds your soul with knowledge:
Knowledge is the food for the soul just as bread is the food for the body. The stronger your soul is, the more prosperous you become, because you will prosper only as your soul prospers. 3 John 2.
He feeds your spirit with understanding:
Another word for understanding here is revelation. The bible calls it spiritual understanding. Revelation is the food for your spirit. A spirit well fed will be able to conquer adversity. Proverbs 18:14 (msg)
If you are not property pastored you will be too unstable due to a weak spirit that is unable to conquer adversities and the troubles of life. Lastly,
The presence of a shepherd scares the wolves away:
When the enemy sees you have no shepherd over your life you will become a prey for him. In real life, when a sheep is left alone or strays away from the shepherd it hardly comes back alive. That will not be your portion, in Jesus Name.
