"Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; 2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God" (1 Peter 4:1-2 AMP)
If you do not make up your mind to be a student of life too many unfortunate things will happen and keep happening to you. you will not be a wise person because you will keep moving in circles.
Here are few ways to learn from life:
Learn from the Word of God:
This is the best way to learn, be wise and avoid the troubles of life. unfortunately, many people read the bible just for the sake of reading it, it is a very wrong approach to God's word. When God sees that you read the bible just for reading He will not teach you anything. When you come with an empty and inquisitive heart He will open up and teach you.
Learn from Mistakes:
By mistakes here I mean yours and that of other people. Don't be a waster of experiences. Whenever you notice a failure in your life due to any mistake, make sure you become wiser through it. If that mistake you made or the mistake of anyone you know should repeat itself in your life, then you just told the whole world that you are foolish. You are not foolish, in Jesus Name.
Learn from your Sufferings:
There is no guarantee that we will not suffer in this world - believers and unbelievers alike. But make sure you benefit from your sufferings. Let your suffering help you yield to God's will better.
If you get into the learning mode and really learn from your suffering you will hardly step out of God's will for the rest of your life on earth.
Note that even Jesus learnt obedience by the things He suffered. He never disobeyed God but He took advantage of His sufferings to position Himself in God's will. Are you learning from your experiences or are you just wasting them?
