Luke 4:1-13
A person equipped with the best weapon of war but lacking the knowledge of how to use it, is entirely open to attacks and could be killed. The word of God is our weapon of attack and defense in spiritual warfare, but the lack of knowledge about it is the same as not having it.
Jesus, the living Word had to use the written word to rebuke the devil when He was faced with temptations that were aimed at thwarting His messianic mission on earth. Jesus gave us a model for engaging the written word when faced with a war of any kind from His approach while He was tempted. It is therefore imperative for us to know what is written in the word of God.
This is not just about memorizing scriptures from Genesis to Revelation and reciting them like poems. This is about studying and meditating on them until they become an integral part of us so that we can use them almost unconsciously when faced with any challenge.
We need to create time to learn and master the use of this sword of the Spirit that God graciously handed to us to put the enemy away.
Ask the Lord to grant you the grace to know what is written in His word so that you will enforce the victory of Christ at all times.
