Turkish-backed rebels vow to capture Manbij from 'infidel' Kurds (video)

BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:30 P.M.) - The Turkish-backed Jaysh Al-Sharqiyah rebel faction has released several videos of their forces vowing to capture the strategic city of Manbij from the Kurdish-led People's Protection Units (YPG) and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

In the videos, the Jaysh Al-Sharqiyah fighters can heard repeatedly calling the Kurdish fighters 'infidels' and threatening to eliminate them from both Manbij and Tal Al-Abyad.

Jaysh Al-Sharqiyah is not only a Turkish-backed rebel group that is operating in northern Syria, but also one of the largest factions of the once 'moderate' Free Syrian Army (FSA).

The rebel group played an integral role in the capture of the Afrin region of Aleppo after a two-month-long battle against the YPG.

Since expelling the YPG from Afrin, Jaysh Al-Sharqiyah has carved out a large area of influence in this region of the Aleppo province.
