BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:45 P.M.) - The infamous 'ghost' emir of the so-called "Islamic State" (ISIS) has been captured by the Turkish security forces near the Syrian border, the Daily Sabah reported on Monday.
According to the Daily Sabah report, the Islamic State commander, Eyup Baksi, was captured by the Adana police forces after a five month long hunt for the terrorist.
Also known as the "Adana emir", Baksi ran a small wing of the Islamic State from the southern Turkish city of Adana; his whereabouts were later revealed by former members of the group.
Baksi was said to have been captured by the Turkish police inside the garden of a private hospital in the city of Adana.
No further details were released at this time.
