I start from the idea that everything changes (languages, borders, cultures) and that we can guide that transformation for the better, rather than resisting out of fear, is fundamental. It implies a social maturity that I wish we could achieve more often, recognising that adaptation and mutual learning are necessary for both host societies and those who arrive.
