I had an interesting walk today and would love you all to join me on my virtual tour.
Since I'm new in the hood, yea I came to visit my cousins, I decided to take nice shots of things I saw and found interesting.
Here is Badagry in Lagos state.
The city is a big and neat one.
We had the intention of visiting the mall, bank, and then the market to get some things for the weekend.
Here is a picture of the mall, it is called "Beach Town Mall".
It is very beautiful.
After getting some things we know we won't find in the general market, we headed to the bank.
We wanted to change the old currency to the new one, My country has decided to change the old currency and the old currency will be invalid from the 31st of January 2023, so we wanted to change the old currency with us.
Unfortunately, there was so much queue at the bank.
Well, we finally succeeded in changing our currency to the new one.
The one on the left-hand side
(The blue one😁) is the new Nigerian currency while the one on the right-hand side will not be in circulation from January 31st, 2023
back view, I love the older version of the currency but who am I to argue with my government? hehe🙄
At this point we were so famished, we headed to an eatery close to a gas station
Now we are ready for the real walk, walking in Lagos market is no joke, you have to be vigilant, smart, and active.
Okay, we are heading to the Badagry Market.
The most interesting thing about the market is sightseeing, at least looking is free even if you can't purchase everything.
Join me virtually I take you around Badagry Market.
The first thing I sighted was a waist bead, I love waist beads, thankfully I purchase a few of them.
Okay, the next was where they sell food stuff like bags of rice in bulk and small quantities.
Toys for kids, hehe
At the jewelry stand, there is so much fancy jewelry.
Mattresses and decor.
Thrift wears, these wears are affordable and beautiful.
Fruits.
Toothbrushes and toothpaste.
Yams, tomatoes, peppers, and onions.
There are so many sections in this market oh, I captured the ones I could.
Here is a very fine boutique where ready-to-wear clothes are sold.
This is a roasted plantain. Hehe, have you eaten this before? It is so sweet and best eaten with groundnut, I bought it and eat while we were still in the market.
The woman selling is so well-mannered, that was why I bought from her.
Wigs, handkerchiefs, head wears.
There is a lot of tricycle in the market which helps to transport people and their goods to the park where they can board a bus home.
We purchased all we want and headed back home.
On our way back, I noticed there was a palace at Badagry.
Here is the picture, each village has its palace and king. That was amazing. Badagry is a village as well to some folks here in Lagos state.
I also noticed a government school named "Badagry Grammar school".
I was told it's a boarding school and I find that fascinating.
I enjoyed my visit to the market, mall, and bank.
One thing I observed is, it is a neat and bustling environment
Here is the route we took home, thankfully we got home safe and sound.
I hope you enjoyed the virtual tour.
Hehe.
