I can still remember vividly the day i took this picture few years ago. It was a Saturday morning and I was about heading out when i decided to take a picture. I took few pictures but they didn't match my expectation of what being beautiful was as orchestrated by the media.
My next action was to show some cleavage to look more appealing and the end result was just what i wanted
The media; magazine, tv commercials and most especially social media are tools which companies deploy paying millions of dollars in order to dump their fake expectations on their audience.
You are what you consume.
The more you watch and listen to these messages the more likely you will believe them thus crave to be like that.
It often starts with finding fault in your body and suddenly developing low self esteem to the point of longing to alter how your body looks. This sadly gave rise to products like breast enlargement, butt enlargement and flat tummy oil. Most time some of these products are not effective but a good business strategy to cash from a hungry market.
There have been an unbelievable rise in the sale of organic cream for the past ten years and that is because of the way the media associated beauty to light skin women. It is no longer news that about 49% of the products used in preparing those creams are cancerous in nature. As the number of people patronizing these creams increases statistics shows that in near future there will be high number of people suffering from kidney failure.
The impact these beauty standard has on women is so extreme that they don't mind putting their body at risk. Some have developed eating disorders that are unhealthy while others go through the knife even when they know that they stand a chance of not making it out of the theater room alive. I can count about ten women that lost their lives in the last fourteen months while undergoing plastic surgeries to seek perfection. In recent news it was reported that Christine Ashten a 34 years old Kim Kardashian lookalike died of cardiac arrest after a plastic surgery.
In conclusion, women should learn how to appreciate their body and seek other healthy ways of getting the body they want like exercising. Also we should stop exposing ourselves to every message offered by the media. Even if you must consume all, filter out the toxic ones especially those ones that make you think that you are not enough.
