Some kids doze off half way into plaiting their hair but Zizi's own is a different ball game. She would automatically switch to sleep mode the instant you start making her hair. That was why i really commend her stylist and give her extra tip for the inconvenience. It's never easy atall as she has to maneuver her way through diligently and carefully so that she will not wake the sleeping princess else she would start crying. Kids her age are hyperactive and once you subject them to stay at a place for more than three minutes they will get bored and tired thereby succumbing to sleep.
Today she had a dentist appointment fixed at exactly 11:30am. She do complain of pain while eating and when i checked the tooth i discovered that something was really wrong. I immediately alerted her father but when she heard hospital from her father's lips she had to lie that she wasn't experiencing any ache again so that she can escape visiting the hospital. Visiting the dentist was never an option because the more you delay, the more the problem keep multiplying and the ache keep increasing. So today after breakfast i took her to the clinic to see a dentist.
CRY CRY BABY.
She started freaking out the instant she was made to lay down on the dental chair. The dental equipments must have frightened her and knowing her past experience with syringe injections she started crying. The dentist first of all calmed her down and promised her that she will not give her any injection. She introduced her to all the equipments she want to use and also told her what each would be used for. This worked like magic as she relaxed immediately.
A LITTLE PROBLEM.
The dentist after careful examination of the tooth asked me few questions like if the ache was severe and disturbs her sleep, if she always complain about the ache all the time. I told her that it was only when she was eating that she complain of the ache. She used a surgical pin on the tooth to ascertain if it's going to cause any ache but it did not. She explained to me what needed to be done and that also include filling. I have to go and make payment so that the treatments can commence.
After the filling, my daughter started complaining of pains in that tooth and it was a huge problem. The dentist told me that she have to remove the filling immediately. It is much easier examining adults than children. Adults know if they feel pain especially when they are checking for pain with a surgical pin and also you can use x-ray to ascertain the level of damage but kids own is always different ball game and more complicated. Sometimes they can't even tell what exactly they are feeling. After removing the filling, she told me that the next option is pulpectomy as extraction is a no no for a five years old. Just then the chief dentist walked in and well...
THE PATIENT HAS FALLEN ASLEEP.
The chief dentist was a little perplexed seeing that thee little patient has fallen alseep and she was so into it that she refused to wake up. He decided to work on her as she sleeps. He first examined the tooth and wrote down somethings on a paper.
He said the tooth was not yet bad that filling can do the trick but if the pain continues we can come back for the pulpectomy. He washed the tooth and started refilling it again and all these while my daughter was deep in sleep. When he was done he was just laughing at the bizzare things only kids can do.
And when i finally wake her up she asked me ...
Mummy are we done? Can we go home now?.
