My children made me promise them that they would be taking burger for lunch at school even though i am obsessed over giving them healthy food to school instead of chunks.
They ofcourse knew the importance of eating healthy but they convinced me that once in a while I should give them pizza or burger for lunch after all the world will not end. I kind of understand what they meant and it's good to always be spontaneous even in simple things like school lunch.
Their school bus arrived and the only food I packed for them was fruits and water. My plan was to stop at Chicken republic to buy the burger then drop them at their school before heading to work.
It started raining heavily after they left for school and all my plans to order online was futile so I took my Car keys and entered the rain to buy my girls their burger. Everywhere was flooded because of the heavy rain and there were just few vehicles on the road. I first thought that there was going to be a lot of traffic but I guessed the main traffic will be tomorrow as people stayed back home today because of the rain.
Getting to the chicken republic ( well that's the name of the fast food joint. it has many franchise across the county) there were just two customer there but I wasn't suprised because if not for my girls I wouldn't have stepped out of my house. I placed an order for two burgers and as I was about to pay I noticed that it has increased in price. Not that it's a new thing though but it was actually wey more costlier than I expected.
A small burger was sold at that particular outlet for #1200 last year but today I bought it at #2200. That was a whole #1000 increase. I don't really blame them because everything in the country has also skyrocketed in price because of the inflation as naira continues to lose value against dollar.
KCF is just right opposite chicken republic but way more expensive. Their burgers are very nice too. After making my payment I went straight to my children's school and I was lucky to have made it on time before their lunch break.
Just as I was about heading home, my friends called me and asked that I buy some burger for them too while coming over to their house. This made me to went back to chicken republic to buy the second batch of burgers. I ordered for four burgers and went over to my friend's place.
