Crypto is a bye product of blockchain which is the technology behind crypto. Crypto is a sub set of blockchain. Blockchain is the host of every crypto project and crypto is just an aspect of what blockchain is capable of doing. Just like electronic mailing address or box is just an aspect of the internet. The vast internet is more beneficial and full of potential than just having or owning a mail box.
Blockchain makes it possible to record information digitally on a digital ledger. This makes it impossible to hack or change because the information is duplicated on so many computers at the same time.
For example, if I have an agreement with Hive everyone on the hive blockchain becomes a witness to that agreement and as such have a copy of the agreement with them; everyone of you becomes a NOD each.
Examples of blockchain is Hive, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Trim etc. Blockchain is still under utilized as it has many more aspect to be tapped into. Bitcoin came up with blockchain technology usage as a store of value for monetary purpose and this has become a major trend for most projects.
There are lots of aspect to be harnessed in blockchain technology and early adopters stand to make more money from it.
