The Honda Center was initially known as the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim. It is an excellent indoor arena that is conveniently located in California's Anaheim. The National Hockey League's Anaheim Ducks have their home in this arena. It was constructed back in the year 1993 and was named as Anaheim Arena. There has been a lot of money spent on the creation of this famous arena.
Back in the year 1993, the arena opened with a Barry Manilow concert as the first-ever event. Since then, the Honda Center has been hosting several top-notch events including the Stanley Cup finals in the year 2007 and 2003. In the year 2007, on 6th June the Ottawa Senator was defeated by the Anaheim Ducks. Other renowned events that have been hosted by the Honda Center include various UFC events, beginning with UFC 59 back in the year 2006. It also hosted the popular IBF World Badminton Championship in the year 2005.
The Honda Center served as another home for the Clippers of NBA's Los Angeles from the year 1994 to the year 1998. From the year 1994 to the year 1999, it was home for the Anaheim Bullfrogs of Roller Hockey International. And from the year 1996 to the year 1997, it was home to Arena Football League's Anaheim Piranhas. Since the year 1998, the arena has also hosted a PBR Bud Light Cup event every year. Plus, since 1994 the John R. Wooden Classic has also been hosted by the arena annually. Back in the year 2011, Honda Center also began to host the Big West Conference Women's as well as Men's Basketball tournaments.
The Honda Center has also successfully hosted the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament as the Western regional site six times. Back in 1999, it also hosted the finals and semi-finals of the NCAA Ice Hockey Men's Championship. The last concert of the renowned musical legend Tina Turner took place at the Honda Center. The Honda Center can be conveniently converted to an amphitheater of eight thousand and four hundred seats from a huge sporting arena. The building features eighty-four luxurious suites which have over the time hosted around seventeen and a half million visitors. Therefore, it is a must for you to witness the massive Honda Center while visiting Anaheim, California. It is situated across the California State Route 57 in the northeast. It is roughly three miles away from the Disney Parks.
